About Us
We provide experimental making space for craftspeople in Chicago.
Our Mission
New City Craft is a workspace for intermediate to advanced artists that have outgrown intro-level ceramics settings. With guided expertise, we offer artists community space to explore glaze mixing, slip casting, wheel throwing, various firings and other traditional techniques. Although we currently focus on ceramic art, our space is open to other art mediums.
Meet Our Director
Rianna Sprague is southside Chicago artist. As a mixed media installation artist, material is the foundation of her work. This unique perspective led to the creation of New City Craft.
Rianna received her MFA in 2012 from the New York State College of Ceramics at Alfred University and earned her BFA from Knox College in 2009. She has worked with multiple art communities in Chicago. Having seen the need for experimental workspace for growing artists, she aims to create an environment that allows artists to make what they want, when they want.
